Achondroplasia Clinic 

The achondroplasia multidisciplinary team (MDT) clinic provides coordinated care from paediatric specialists in the following fields: neonatology, endocrinology, neurosurgery, ENT, respiratory, clinical genetics, orthopaedic surgery and occupational therapy.

This allows children and their families from across Scotland to be reviewed and assessed in a “one-stop” clinic where the multidimensional issues encountered are considered in a patient centered holistic approach. This has mitigated the number of clinical appointments a child may need to see multiple specialists and created a more centralised and coordinated care pathway. This clinics runs bi-monthly
